Right out of the gate this company boasts a sign-up rate of 83% for people viewing the presentation video to completion. While I can not attest to that it could be legit as the program is completely free to join.

So what is the catch?

While the program is free to join, they do have upgrade options. Before I get to the upgrade option I have to mention that the free account is more than generous. You also don’t get hit with OTO’s (one time offers) when signing in to your account.

Before getting into all the benefits you get as a free member, let’s first delve into what SoManyHits.com is…

Like the sales video explains, SoManyHits.com is first and foremost a URL tracking and shortening service, meaning you can shorten all your affiliate links and track how many clicks they receive. Unlike mostly all other tracking services (even the paid ones), there is no limit on the amount of campaigns you can create or clicks you may receive during a given month before shelling out more money to keep on tracking. This is true even for free members.

They also made it easy to track multiple advertising sources from the same campaign tracking URL by simply adding a keyword identifiable to you to the end of the tracking URL. When a shortened tracking URL is followed, the hit is recorded and displayed in your back-office, complete with a break-down of where the hits came from (keywords appended).

The service also promises to create a flood of traffic to any and all campaigns that will keep on doubling. While this may sound outrageous, it actually does happen because of their unique referral system.  Well…, when I say unique, for those of you familiar with their sister site EasyCash4Ads.com, it actually makes use of the exact same 2-up referral system where your first two referrals are passed up to your sponsor into what they call traffic lines. Every person who ends up in one of your traffic lines will first have to sponsor two people who will go to their sponsor, which means that particular traffic line keeps doubling.

If you are put off by the notion that you first have to refer two people that goes to your sponsor before the system can begin working for you, the good news is that sign-ups should not be hard to come by seeing that the program is free to join and their affiliate tools also helps a lot to achieving this requirement (more on that later).   My ‘SoManyHits.com’ account is generating 2-4 new sign-ups EVERY DAY!!

Getting back to the traffic aspect, every time one of your tracking links are followed, visitors will first pass through an ad gateway, similar to services such as ad fly where they will first see an interstitial ad for a couple of seconds before being directed to the site being tracked.  That ad will be a random campaign belonging to your sponsor, so when you take into account the way traffic lines keep doubling, it gives credence to the claim that your traffic will also keep doubling. It should be noted, when you create a new campaign, you can choose to promote the campaign through your traffic lines via an interstitial ad or (for pro members) a pop-under ad. Members may also choose not to promote certain campaigns.

While there is something to be said about the annoyance of pop-under and interstitial ads, bear in mind that their target market is Internet Marketers. These are the same people signing up for programs through traffic exchanges, so I can very well see this traffic converting very well indeed.

Apart from the traffic, URL tracking and URL shortening, you also have the ability to export the contact details of everybody in your traffic lines into a CVS file to easily import to your auto-responder of choice. The great thing about this for the new member joining is that they will only end up in their sponsor’s mailing list because of the way their referral system works. This is great as the last thing I want when signing up for a new opportunity is to end up in as many mailing lists as are dependent on the size of the member’s down-line or up-line. For those who don’t yet have an auto-responder account (what are you waiting for?), you still get to message your traffic lines through an internal messaging system complete with a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor every 10 days. (Pro members can message their traffic lines every 60 hours)

The owners of SoManyHits.com realize the strength of an affiliate network and this is reflected in the tools they make available to members to promote their affiliate links. When they launched their sister site EasyCash4Ads, the IM world was abuzz with talk about their beautiful splash and capture pages. With SoManyHits they did it again with a total of 120 splash, capture and brain-teaser pages (which double as splash pages) and improved on the design by displaying an animation while the image is loading. These pages can also easily be shared as stunning image cards to your Twitter and Facebook followers with a click of a button.

Members have an abundance of emails and banners as well as some other nifty tools to promote their links, not to mention affiliate links also get promoted through their shortened tracking links which means they can actually lay claim to their product slogan of working smarter, not harder.

Getting to the upgraded features, analyzing your tracking stats really come into their own with much more detailed reports and real time charts. Platinum members also get to message their traffic lines every 60 hours as opposed to every 10 days, they have more options available to them when creating campaigns but where the pro membership really shines is in the income plan.

Platinum membership plans start at $27 for 60 days or $13.50 per month. (a quick Google search revealed most of the competition start at an average of $29/month with limited clicks). From there the options go up to $69 for 6 months ($11.50 per month), $121 for one year ($10, 08 per month) and $177 for 2 years ($7, 38 per month) As an upgraded member you will receive, $10, $20, $30 and $50 respectively every time the platinum membership is renewed. Free members will receive 40% of the commission amount while the other 60% will go to the first upgraded member in their up-line. This effectively means upgraded members will make an extra 60% commission from members who have already qualified out of their traffic lines.

Taking this up yet another notch, they also pay out performance bonuses where you could earn an additional 40% commission. Commissions are paid out twice a month and should you earn $350 during a pay period, they will add another $50 to your commission. Earn $700 and you will get an extra $100 on top of the $50 bonus you received. Earn $1000 and receive yet another $250 on top of what you already earned. From $1000 up, you will get a bonus of $400 for every $1000 you earn. Taking into consideration that upgraded members also receive 60% second tier commissions from free members who qualified out of their traffic lines, it effectively means you will earn 40% extra commission through your own efforts as well as from free members in your down-line.

From what I understand, the developers are already working on more features to be implemented that will be available to pro members. While the free plan will impress even the most critical user, members will be hard-pressed not to upgrade, especially taking the affordable upgrade options into account.

In summary, SoManyHits.com is a well-thought-out service offering a lot of value for the cash strapped marketer with a generous compensation plan and a promise to grow a traffic monster that will serve you well in time to come.

Bottom line to my review of SoManyHits.com is that this is extremely good value for money (considering it is FREE to join!!).  It is action-packed full of fantastic tools, all beneficial to Internet and Affiliate Marketers, so my recommendation is:

Sign up for the FREE account, spend some time getting used to the program and all of it’s various tools, then decide whether you want to jump into the upgraded version.

Website Traffic, How Do I Get An Endless Supply Of It?

There is no doubt that if you have any type of online presence, whether it be a blog, a Facebook Page, or an e-commerce store, the YOU NEED TRAFFIC.

You have probably heard the sayings like ‘without website traffic you don’t have an online business’ or ‘the money is in the list’.   These are both so very true, why have a beautifully laid out website or Facebook Page if no-one is looking at it.   Or having an impeccably designed e-commerce store but there is no traffic to it, and therefore NO SALES!!

Just the same as any bricks-and-mortar street store, you aren’t going to stay in business very long if you don’t have a steady stream of paying customers.   So how do you attract these potential customers to your ‘door’?    If you had a normal street store you would have advertising hoardings at the front of store, posters in the windows, and maybe ‘specials’ signs throughout the store.  Customers see your outside advertising, hopefully become attracted to something they see or need, and then are excited once they step inside your store and see many more bargains.   To keep them returning to your store you may offer discounts or loyalty cards, or special coupons for repeat customers, all designed for them to come back to your store time and time again.

Online selling is no different.   Except that to attract customers in the first place we advertise via bright and colourful ‘splash pages’, offering something free or extremely cheap, in return for obtaining the potential customers name and email address (via a web form).

Then once we have that, we follow up with ‘something they want or need’, we know they are interested in what you have because they took the time to give you their contact details in the first place.   Obviously they were searching for your product, or something similar, so you know they are ‘ready to spend’.   And because you now have their email address, you can offer them further products or services, making them repeat customers.

But marketers online have so much competition, everyone is advertising fervently for those elusive customers, and only those with a constant supply of traffic to their sites will survive.   And only if they have a good product, at the right price!!

So what methods are available to online marketers to attract customers to their ‘doors’ (sites)?  There are many, some are free and some come at a cost.  I like the FREE ones!!

The main free methods are Traffic Exchanges, and there are literally thousands of them to choose from.  Some are extremely efficient, and provide a great platform for banner advertising or posting solo ads, others are quite pathetic and are really only there wanting to take your money once you upgrade, but offer very little in return.

I have used many different TE’s over the past few years, I have discarded many that fall into the ‘pathetic’ category, but I have continued to use several others that, even at the free level, are a fantastic advertising medium with thousands of active members.   ‘Active’ is the key word here, it is pointless advertising on sites that have massive (free) memberships, but only a handful of those members are constantly viewing the banner or solo ads, actually looking for something to buy.

That is why I wrote the e-book ‘Traffic to Infinity’.   I wanted newbies to the internet and affiliate marketing game to be introduced to tried-and-proven TE’s, so they don’t have to waste their time, and money, surfing thousands and thousands of other affiliates ad’s, for absolutely no return.

I wanted to take all the leg-work out of their new online adventure, to save them all those wasted hours surfing ad after ad, without realising that probably very few people were even seeing their one or two ads they placed when joining.   All the TE’s in my e-book ‘Traffic to Infinity’ are ones that I use on a very regular basis, and I can see from my statistics that people are in fact reading my small number of ads, because they are clicking through to my sites.

Of course only a handful of those that click through actually ever buy anything, that’s just the way it is with online marketing, but at least they do.   And by using the rinse-and-repeat method, by constantly using these popular TE’s, and by rotating my banner and solo ads, I get results.   I may not be getting mega rich, but I am being rewarded for my efforts.   I have written several e-books on various topics, mainly about internet marketing methods, and the regular sales of these items is the inspiration to keep doing it.

Gambling V Paid Advertising, Are They One And The Same Thing?

Not sure if you read my last Blog Post about the joys of being away from home or not, but just had an interesting twist to the fact that I am not at home, and thought I would visit the local hotel for a couple of quiet afternoon beers.   Whilst there, I met a couple of nice blokes who wanted to share their thoughts on the current NZ v Australia cricket test that was being played live on TV, tell me what they did for a living, and generally being friendly to the holiday-maker in their home town.

I also noticed they all seemed to be having the odd wager on the horse and greyhound racing that was also being broadcast live, so being someone who likes the odd dabble on the races, decided to have a go myself.   Now I don’t follow the horses or greyhounds in any shape of fashion, I just had a couple of bets on whatever the commentators thought would be a good bet, and has some success, but more losses than wins!!

When I got back to my caravan I thought to myself, ‘what is the difference between taking a punt on the horses and taking a punt on advertising my internet marketing web sites’?  Both are ‘risk and reward’, generally we are spending money on the blind,  and of course hope for a favourable result.  But whose favour are the odds weighed in?

At the end of the day, gambling is gambling, and there are so many factors to take into consideration before placing a wager, many of which are far out of our control.  But advertising and promoting our online interests is a little different.  Sure, it is a gamble whether anyone will read our adverts, or even click on a link, let alone purchase something from that link.  But as Internet or Affiliate Marketers, we can stack the odds in our favour

We can research our markets, study trends, follow proven sales or marketing methods, and invest our money accordingly.  We are in far more control than a trainer and a jockey who decide when they want to win and when they don’t.  Think about that for a moment!   The racing industry is known to be full of tactics, some good and some not so good.  For example, have you ever heard that greyhound trainers sometimes fill their dogs up with so much water and food before a race ‘they don’t want to win’, the poor dog never stands a chance. Why do they do that?   Because the next time they race the odds increase due to their poor last performance, but this time they are ready.  They don’t feed their dogs up next time, and this makes the dogs want to catch the ‘bunny’ so much more, because they are hungry.

Get the picture?  The odds in any form of racing are stacked against you, due to all the ‘outside’ influences that you don’t see or know about.  But the Internet Marketing arena is a totally different ball game.  You can research your markets, learn (admittedly over time) which are the best paid advertisers to use, document your success (and failures), and learn from those results.  This puts the odds firmly back in your favour, you can invest your money a lot more confidently, and I am sure you will receive a much more higher return on investment (ROI).

So the gist of my post today?  I should have stayed in the caravan and invested my money promoting my web sites, than wasting it on a few horses and greyhounds that I had absolutely no information about!!

But hey, I am on a short holiday break, so why not!!  On a luckier day, I might have one big!!

Therapeutic and Earning At The Same Time!!

I know I spend far too much time at my desk at home messing around with all my internet marketing businesses, but obviously time spent is money in the bank, so I certainly don’t mind the effort.   But at the moment my office is totally different, I am lucky enough to be out of town for a few days and enjoying relaxing in my caravan, something I should do much more often.  The funny thing is though, my laptop is never far away and never turned off, the lure of another customer is never far from my mind!!

But the difference is the therapeutic nature of sitting outside in the sun, listening to the birds chirping, watching ducks waddle by my caravan, hearing children playing and adults chatting.   Compared to my office at home, this is bliss.   Why don’t I do this more often, I hear myself say?   I am still doing my internet stuff, some money is still trickling in just the same as if I was at home, and I am still getting through the same workload as if I was sitting at my desk.

But the real joy of it all, is that at the end of each day, once I have processed all my data, done some advertising, written a blog post, and checked on my sales from the previous day, is that I don’t actually feel like I have even been working.   This has to be the answer to working at home, but not even being there.  This is so relaxing.  I want to do this permanently, but alas the sales aren’t quite where they should be for me to afford to do that yet unfortunately!!

But who cares, at least I have the enjoyment of being able to get out of the rat race and find some peace and solitude away from the masses, and still get to do what I absolutely love – Internet Marketing.   I was thinking last night as I lay in bed listening to all the various wildlife at play outside, about how far I have come with my online presence in the past 5 years, and more so how far I have leapt in the last 10-12 months.

Like all newbie internet or affiliate marketers, when I first started I struggled to understand what I was really supposed to be doing, or even know where to start.  Luckily though I am not a quitter, and now with all the scams and fake get-rich-quick schemes safely behind me, I am really getting my feet under the table.   And loving it!!   I guess with all failures comes success, if you are persistent enough, and I have been through all the rough times and wasted a lot of money getting to the stage I am at right now.  With experience comes wisdom, and one certainly learns how to recognise all the scams and pitfalls around the internet marketing arena, especially after a few years of trial and error.

I am lucky enough to have persevered and come out the other side.  I have found the programs that will pay me like clockwork every month, I have also filtered through the many advertising sites and found the ones that work for me.  I have even written an e-Book about one of the programs I am an affiliate of (Strong Future International), and am in a position of experience within that program.  As a Team Leader I coach and mentor those in my downline (nearly 2000 odd), much of it for free.  This is so rewarding, not only in the monetary sense, but in the feeling of helping others who are struggling the same as me when I first started.

Tomorrow I will release to them an amazing new advertising platform I came across and joined a few days back, and already has earned me well over $100, all for about a total of 10 minutes work!!  This is the stuff I love, finding something new that works and then passing it onto my team, so they succeed also.   Yes of course there are commissions for me when I give them the link, but hey, I am an internet marketer after all, that is how I get paid.   But so will they, as soon as they see the benefits of what I introduce them to (and I always test these programs before I off-load), they will send to their downlines and recoup their original outlay almost immediately.

But getting back to my main reason for this post, I am doing all of this from the comfort of a camping chair, outside my caravan, in the sun, and very soon also with a beer in my hand!!  Tough gig, I know….

So if you need to escape the humdrum of sitting in your office or being wall-bound wherever you may be, I thoroughly recommend trying something like I am experiencing right now, even if it is in a tent or a motel with a view, anything that is different.   You will be amazed at how your mind thought process changes, you will feel so relaxed, and if you are like me, you will still have put in a full days work without even realising it!!

So don’t procrastinate, just do it.   I am going home soon, but I am planning my next ‘therapeutic getaway’ already.   We owe it to ourselves!!

The Hamster Wheel

There are three kinds of people in this world…

There are people who are made to stay on the hamster wheel their whole life.

And there are people who will do absolutely anything they can to never get on the hamster wheel in the first place.

And there are people who find themselves on the hamster wheel and …wish they could get off.

What’s the hamster wheel? It’s the rat race. It’s the day-to-day routine of get up, take a shower, drive to the office, sit in the cubicle, punch the clock, drive home, watch TV, cash a paycheck once every 2 weeks.

Repeat for 50 or so years. Then die.

The hamster wheel keeps you in motion. It fools you into thinking you’re moving forward.

But you’re just spinning. And spinning. And spinning.

Constant action. But no progress.

It’s hypnotic. It’s deeply deceptive. It’s seductive. And most people choose to spend their whole lives spinning.

Those are the first group.

Then there’s the second group. People in the second group see the hamster wheel for what it is and say, “Not for me!”

Matt started trying to make money online out of his bedroom in November, 2008.
